That's Fine Gael's pitch here in NY to tap into US sources of revenue by the means of holding fund raisers for the upcoming general election.
SDLP, Ulster Unionists and Sinn Féin all have raised funds here to support their political agendas.
However, when a major national party registers as a foreign agent with the USDOJ to raise money to unseat the present government, it must send up a red flag about the propriety of influencing the outome of an election by persons who neither live or vote in the State.

I live in NY, upstate. Irish is becoming real important here. My father is from Ireland, 100% Galway. If they fund raise in NY, theres many here who would listen. Things are heating up a bit here with neocons-rightwingers who do not get it. They resent the Irish becoming in the spotlight. They want us all to shut up about ethnicity.

Americans do that a lot, they send money to out of staters. It does not surprise me, seems like NY is turning into a mini Ireland in some parts. I just sold 3 paintings because I paint irish fairies. I had a big overnight castle party with friends, march 17. They just had big festivals, parades, irish dancing in NY . Its all good for you in Ireland, it helps bring you tourists. About 10 years ago, nobody in NY cared a hoot what happened in Ireland. You should be glad they are noticing the Irish culture and bringing back the ethnicity. It will bring you a lot of tourists. I am saving up to visit you.

seems Ireland is quite split up politically. I did not mean my post to imply that I agree with New Yorkers sending radicals money in ireland. It looks like you have better election laws than we do with your spending limits. But, yes, they do send money all over the country from NY to plaster propoganda. If you want to know, I'm not big on NY catholics, if that is how is sending the cash. I will do a post on the American board that I am on in NY, to jerk them a bit. Gee, I hope you guys are not the radicals, I thought you were the northern protestants, thats what my family came from. I will write a short post in NY on a political board to complain about them sending money to Ireland to influence elections, it will piss them off for sure.

no, I don't but I do know one. he was at the Pagan Fest. Do you have those? That is when they all dress up and pretend to be middles ages, get out the Wicca books etc. Many of them are gay. No I am not gay, I am a democrat conservative, I work for a bank. I do not have any debts, pay my bills and I approve loans and transfer loans. I am very responsible.

oh yes, henry, I also saw the post on the DNA database that Hines is testing well for Viking DNA. My dad Hines came from Galway, so that politically really makes me a Viking. Have you seen the new movie Pathfinder? Are you of the Vikings, too?

OK, I get it. You are funny. You are mostly liberals since you are not in Iraq. I am a liberal, but have conservative finance beliefs. Vikings were bad people like biker gangs here in the USA, so I get it. Not good neighbors.

I disagree with the fundrasing in America. Irish americans have an agenda for ireland all too different than those who live in the north. It surely encourages tampering with the political system over there.
