Hows everyone today, hope the world is right with everyone. Replacing 2 yellow squash lost in the frost and 2 tomato plants today. Finished planting
impatiens last night.I have a bucket of paint waiting for me to finish the woodwork in the hallway. Grrrr. But the fairies have not shown up yet to finish for me, so I guess its up to me.
Sunshiney Hugs,
Deanne
Hi Deanne and aine... I hope your day was nice. I agree, gardening helps relieve stress, pent up energy.. as long as one remembers to just pull up the weeds LOL!
hi Maureen, if i am not in a blind rage and my glasses on...then i am ok!!!it's just the weeds!!!..lol.. Anyhow, it is raining here so i do not have to water the plants today!! Am indoors with paperwork, grrrr....how i wish i could be outdoors pulling up weeds!!!! i am never satisfied!! lol..have a lovely day..
i know it has a pretty flower fantail...but it's one flower we avoided as kids....(pick the dandelion and wet the bed) still jingles in my ear...now i drink dandelion teas to give the oul body a maintainance run...
yes I have heard of them doing that as well Maureen and also the Naturopaths use them for some things...Not that I ever go to one.
They ( Naturopaths) used to be called Witches back in the centuries as they used all the herbs etc for cures and they got hung if caught...just thought I'd add a bit of historical trivea
we used to pick them and tie them together for necklaces here as children. sometimes we'd use them as "crowns"
yes, and isn't that just irony at work, jools, as every otc med. or treatment that modern dr.s have ever "discovered" started with something the earth naturally provided?
hello Fantail...thats the type of paintings I do, all of thatched roofed cottages. I think they are so lovely.
Hope all is well over there. Its getting cold here
One of my favorite painters is Thomas Kinkade. He has stunning cottages, gardens, all sorts of beautiful work.I like to go to his gallery every so often.
yes Maureen Thomade Kinkade , the painter of light as he is known, is good as well.
I could have and still coulod kick myself as when I was on a holiday in 1982 in Hawaii I could have bought one of his paintings for $200 odd dollars....and I have blown most of it as I was set to come home the next day, It was when we got more for our aussie dollar against the u.s. dollar.
It was a beautiful painting. The Streets Of Carmel was the name of it if I recall rightly.I was drooling wanting it
I end up buying a print of Red Skelton, the Christmas Clown for $75, it is signed. Now poor Red has gone to God I think that print would be worth a bit these days.
He used to dress up in differant outfits and get his wife to take a photo of him and then he would paint it.
Jools... He has galleries here in my area.. and his headquarters are about 30 minutes away. I saw him at his gallery in Capitola last june. It was 90F outside, I didnt care lol.. I have 2 small paintings of his, and a few calenders. He also has his wifes first letter of her name in his paintings..people try to count them.. His paintings come alive, with the layers of "lights" all the windows look lit. In his gallery, they have several on display, under proper lighting..I could stay there all day. They are so inspiring, peaceful, spiritual. Here's the link for anyone to enjoy. I'd love to have a large original some day *dreaming*
Yes I have quite often looked got his wife's initial lolol! There was a painting of his that I cannot remember the name of but it was of a village and he had hidden people and cats, dogs in it...it was beautiful!!!
I have a book of his with all his paintings in it and sometimes browse through it.
oh gosh I would be broke if I lived near Gallery of his He also brings out lovely ceramic xmas trees now so I have noticed...that last couple of xmas's in magazines here. Quite costly...
yes, he does wonderful work. could just get lost in gazing at it. he also has some collectible designer plates in a few catalogues. those, also are costly, but very nice. jools--you sound about the tk the way i am about books--i could very easily overdue it. maureen, i planted some sunflowers finally out back. hoping they'll pop up quickly-- i also planted seeds for some texas blu-bonnet and some larkspur and a type of poppy whose type i can't recall just now. saw the picture of it, had not seen before, and thought it'd be lovely as an edging in one of beds. how are everybody's beuaties doin'?
Jools... He has galleries here in my area.. and his headquarters are about 30 minutes away. I saw him at...
