Grace .... Always brings a lump to my throat. Such a lovely, sad song

All of the above ... and so many more! Rose of Tralee, and Tommy Makem singing "Will Ye Go, Lassie Go" at our Irish Fest "scattering" every year until, of course, last year! "Gypsy Rover" (or is that "Whistling Gypsy"?),

Oh dear! Is one allowed to have more than 100 favorites????

A fairly modern song is about emigration. the song is called "Killkelly Ireland" sung by Sean Keane.written from letters found in usa and the corresponding ones in Ireland. it is all about a chap going to usa nineteenth century and never comming back to see his parents. Sad but well worth listening to.

Yes, indeed that is a very poignant song. If you want to read a first-hand account of that song and its origins, check out our 'Kilkelly, Mayo' website. Go to: http://tow...@@.ee8809f - where you will see a full account of how and where the song actually originated.

Once a very long time ago, I heard a song called "The Parting Glass". It stayed with me for years, always wondering where I could hear it again. Then the movie, "Waking Ned Devine" came out and at the very end there it was. It sent me on a search to find out more about it. Of all the versions I have now heard, this is still my favorite.

Hi Dogs - This is how to post YouTube clips. When you find a video that you like on YouTube, look on the right side of the page. You'll see a box which says "embed" beside it. Put your mouse on top of the box, right click, choose select all, right click again, choose copy. Then come here to IC, and in the message box right click, choose paste. You'll then see the text you copied from YouTube in the message box, but after you click "post this now" you'll see the video in the blog.

We have to pick just ONE? As a fiddler, I play so many...there is no way I can really pick only one
