Well.. a year has come and gone since last spring here, it went quickly. There are fragarant pink and white blossoms all over the valley from apple, cherry trees. Tulips, hyacinths, freesias, daffodils, crocus, wildflowers all blooming!
My Irish clover is 6 inches tall in a large pot, I got the seeds in Dublin last fall. Lucky plants of course!
Veggie seedlings are growing nicely... tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, delicata "honeyboat" winter squash(the sweetest one) cucumbers. More flowers will start to emerge and bloom such as clematis, daisys, petuinas, pansies, sweetpeas, hollyhocks..they are in the garden.
dear Maureen,
I'm so thrilled spring flowers and veggies are sprouting their lovely heads for you! I live in Montana and we still have snow!! all of our trees are still barren, leafless and when the snow melts for a fortnight reprieve the grass beneath is dead and yellow.
But I have faith that the sun will warm the soil again very soon, and that the leaves will green and soon we'll be bragging about tomatoes and stargazer lillies!
blessings to you this lovely spring season and to your bountiful harvest of flowers and food!

Ahh well, lovely to hear from you mcneely and mgreer and Katy! Spring will eventually reach all parts you live in. I am thinking the summer is shorter in Montana, so short season tomatoes..or is there that much of a difference in time to mature? Here we can grow certain veggies a few months longer due to the heat.
Katy, I do the same..tidy up,and then sit and enjoy the lovely birds, especially my favorite hummingbirds! I miss the momma one who had her nest on my porch for the past 2 years.
All the rain England has had/having has made the bulbs and evergreens happy I see
well, spring sprang here, too, and with it , our house flooded, but definately have new growth everywhere, too. but atleast it hasn't started out with freak frosts and dosn't look to come a drought(we hope)? either of you like fuschias or african violets?
for now. mostly, diverting the water's path in the front of the house has helped a lot, but we'll eventually need to get up the funds to reseal the entire foundation, and take much bigger drainage measures in the yard. but, atleast it's not a drought?
