On Saturday 10th May, my daughter Tracey is getting married to her partner of 9 years Andy Turner. The civil ceremony is being held at the top of the old Dungeness Lighthouse here in Kent. There are 169 steps to climb to the top... hopefully we'll all make it to the top!
Yesterday, I went out and bought myself a new digital camera so that I can take loads of pics at the wedding.
These two pics below are of the lighthouse itself. It ceased working as a lighthouse in 1961 and is now held purely as a venue for civil weddings. The other pic is of the steps looking upwards towards to the top of the lighthouse.

Hi everyone... and huge thanks to you all for all your posts.
The day was truly wonderful. Everything went well, the ceremony, the pictures, the reception.... and the dancing of course The wine flowed and me, who doesn't usually drink, has a hangover today. I got to bed about 4am this morning (stayed overnight at the hotel) and up again at 8 So feeling a bit fragile right now.
I shed a tear or two, laughed, danced and, as you say Hettie, breathed it all in.
They set off this morning heading for Cornwall (envy, envy.... bit mean they didn't let me go along ). First stop is Looe and St. Michael's Mount. They will be back on 22nd May, and I've had instructions not to post any pictures anywhere yet until they're back. I think they want to choose the best ones.... which is only fair.
So you'll have to wait a bit longer for the pics.... but patience is a virtue.
And I'd like to wish all my friends a lovely Mother's Day.... enjoy!!!

I received a message from MsQuickly that comes here to tell me to warn people not to approve a new member MikeKunal87 as she did and her computer has taken a dive.
She is useing her sons laptop and is not game to come in here...
I dont know how to send mass emails here...I have warned mags..and lonnie but he had already heard from her.

It truly was just one wonderful day from start to finish. Lots of happy memories there. And it's good the sun is shining while they're holidaying down in Cornwall.
Sunny, I've just about recovered from my hangover Me who very rarely drinks, certainly made up for it on Saturday! I'm a special occasion only drinker, so it will be Christmas before I have the next one for sure.
Life back to a sense of normality now.
