Ireland Calls - Guidelines
Ireland Calls used to be known as Irish
Chat but we change the name as now there is so much more
available to its members. We still refer to it as IC
for short.
Everyone in Ireland Calls has signed up to the
terms and conditions. If you want another look you can
find them here. As they are full of
legal jargon here are just a few guidelines for using
"Ireland Calls". Any suggestions for additions to
this page would be welcome.
What is Ireland Calls?
A place where anyone, with an interest in Ireland, can
come and meet people online with similar interests. It
should be fun but informative, political yet understanding,
frank yet discreet, and privacy in all things should be
respected.
In reality Ireland Calls is what the members make
it. We rely on the members to make others feel welcome.
If you find anyone you don't get along with, the best
thing is to avoid them, there will be plenty of people you
can get along with. Ireland Calls users should be
mature enough to deal with disruptive behaviour themselves.
If you see someone in trouble direct them to our page of
tips with dealing with abuse
Politics, Sex and Religion
These topics probably cause more arguments than
everything else put together. We welcome frank and open
discussion on all of these topics and indeed any other
topic. If you become embroiled in topics you don't want to
discuss check out our tips page.
Privacy
No information is available to other people in the chat
room other than what you tell them so don't give out
personal details unless you know exactly who you are talking
to. Also see Chat Tips on this.
Email accounts
The email address that you use to login to Ireland
Calls is only available to the Ireland Calls
admin. Nobody else has access to it and the only reason we
have it is to send you occasional news about Ireland
Calls. Nobody else in here will have your email address
unless you give it to them.
You do have an email address that works locally, just
within Ireland Calls. Click on your mailbox to use
it.
Moderation
Although we reserve the right to revoke membership of
Ireland Calls this is something we prefer to
avoid.
